Grieving the
Loss of a Pet
The loss of one’s pet can be just as painful and impactful as losing a human loved one. There is a significant break in routine, a missing shadow! One who waited patiently (underfoot) for you to drop something while cooking…is no longer there. For anyone grieving the death of a pet, the pain can be overwhelming. Losing your best friend is heartbreaking and can leave behind a profound sense of emptiness and loss. Each person deals with grief differently, but that doesn’t make the death any less painful. Some people find it hard to express their feelings because not everyone around them understands the gravity of the loss, especially if they’ve never had a dog of their own.
“Until one has loved an animal, part of ones soul remains unawakened.”
Anatole France

To live in the hearts we leave behind, is not to die.
Murphy’s Memorial Garden
For many years we have been placing memorial stones in our garden. These little memento’s of friends we have grown to know and love peek out from their little spots among the tiny button flowers and ground cover. Over the years, toiling in the garden - we will come across a name and up pops a memory to brighten the day….we are lucky to have had so many true friends!
